 The relevant point to me here is the fact that there is a strong partnership firm in India for the Port that is doing the ground work. I too believe that for western firms, unless they have a lot of money power to spend, the key is to find a partner that you can align your values with. That way you always have someone looking out for you when an opportunity arises.

A word of caution though. There are hundreds and thousands of ’boutique’ consulting firms out there claiming business knowledge and expertise in India. When looking for trade partners, look for firms who have successfully established themselves in the industry. Make sure your interests do not conflict with the firm’s own interests and you are bound to have a successful relationship.
